Sanjeev Kumar Chadha
A seasoned Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 1989 Orissa cadre, who served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. He previously held the position of Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department, Government of Orrisa, with additional responsibilities as Director, Agricultural Marketing, Member Secretary of the OSAM Board, and Chairman of OSWC. Known for his administrative acumen, Chadha played a pivotal role in implementing the Orissa government’s transformative 5T initiative in the Cooperation and Agricultural Marketing departments, achieving several key milestones.
Earlier, as Managing Director of NAFED, he contributed significantly to national agricultural marketing reforms. An academic with a Master’s and Ph.D. in Zoology and Forestry, Chadha has led impactful initiatives in conservation, natural resource management, health, social development, and SC/ST empowerment.
He is credited with pioneering hi-tech horticulture in Orissa and introducing high-value crops such as bananas, guava, and vegetables to small and marginal farmers, thereby strengthening the agri-value chain and increasing farmers’ incomes.
